Step 1
Hourly or fixed price — which pays off?
Most moving companies in Stockholm offer either an hourly rate (per mover and hour) or a fixed price (for the whole job). The hourly rate often looks lower on paper — but doesn't include delays for parking, elevator or narrow stairwells, which is common on Södermalm and Vasastan.
A fixed price is based on a short walk-through of your belongings — either via video call or on-site visit. You know exactly what the move will cost before it begins, and you pay the same regardless of how long the day turns out. For most private moves this is the safest option.
Checklist
- Ask for both hourly and fixed price
- Always count on at least 4 hours minimum at hourly rate
- Check whether a call-out fee applies
- Make sure insurance is included
