The kitchen — the most important room
The kitchen is where the inspector looks most carefully. Stove, oven and extractor fan must be completely free of grease — that means removing trays and filters, often soaking overnight. Don't forget on top of the cabinets, under the stove and behind the fridge/freezer.
Cabinets and drawers are emptied and wiped inside and out. Dishwasher, microwave and the stove's draw-out drawer are cleaned separately.
Checklist
- Degrease stove, oven and trays
- Disassemble and soak fan filters
- Clean above and below cabinets
- Pull out fridge/freezer — clean behind and under
- Empty and wipe cabinets and drawers
- Dishwasher's filters and seals
